TAC Road Safety Awards
Eligibility
Victorian local government, schools and community groups are all eligible to enter. Eligible groups may submit more than one program for an award.
Prizes
The awards will be in the form of a plaque and a financial reward of $3,000 for first prize and $2,000 for second prize. The rewards are to be used towards future road safety initiatives.
Information to include in written submission
- Initiative description – what the key focus of your initiative is and what road safety issue/s it targeted.
- Initiative objectives and/or outcomes.
- Who did the initiative target?
- Has this approach been used before (i.e.: evidence from previous research or programs)?
- Community participation – including partnerships formed, key organizers and major community contributors.
- Has this initiative continued past its initial implementation or is it expecred to continue?
- Evaluation – how do/will you know that your program is successful?
- Timelines.
Rules of entry
- Innovation and programs must be new and Victorian.
- Innovations and programs must have been implemented after May 2006.
- Both written and electronic submissions will be accepted. Written submissions are to include one (1) original document and four (4) photocopies in an unbound hardcopy format. Any supporting materials should be kept to a minimum and only one (1) copy is to be provided.
- Submissions must be received no later than 3 pm on 29 August 2008. Any submissions received after that time will not be considered.
Conditions of entry
- Award nominees must be prepared to deliver a presentation of their nomination as part of the Saferoads Conference program if required.
- There may be promotional activities undertaken as part of the awards. These promotional activities may include being interviewed and photographed by the media.
- An independent panel established by the Saferoads partnership will judge the nominations. The panel's decision will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
Entry form
Written submissions must be accompanied by a completed entry form (photocopies accepted). Electronic submissions must ensure the information required in the entry form is provided in their email. Entries must be received no later than 29 August 2008.
