Many Councils and community groups have been working hard to improve road safety within their communities. To recognise these achievements, the Saferoads partnership is now accepting nominations for the 2008 TAC Road Safety Awards.

The purpose of the awards is to:

• Showcase effective local road safety programs
• Increase public awareness of road safety issues
• Encourage the development, innovation and/or improvement of road safety programs
• Increase community ownership and participation in road safety

The awards will be presented at the Saferoads 2008 Cocktail Reception on Tuesday 30 September 2008.
